All vehicles operated by Just Travel are fully maintained to and above the Vehicle and Operating Services Agency (V.O.S.A) Standards.  Alongside this, we operate for North Yorkshire County Council and East Riding County Council, they have strict checks and guidelines which we carry out  on a daily basis to ensure that the carriage of students and venerable adults is done in the safest and most cost effective way.

All our drivers are required by law to complete a Daily Defect report check either at the start of the working day or at the start of any shift change.  This ensures that the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition to be used.  Any defects at the end of the working day are reported to the garage and corrected before  the vehicle is next used.

All our vehicles are subjected to thorough 6 weekly inspection checks in our fully equipped workshop.

These inspections are regularly checked by VOSA, the governing body that regulates our Operators Licence.  All paperwork is kept in our site office and is subject to regular checks by VOSA and NYCC.

All our staff are required by law to abide by all current Health & Safety restrictions.

It is Just Travel's Company Policy to ensure all drivers are CRB 'enhanced' checked and are all qualified in all aspects of current P.C.V regulatory legislation.

Our 'prime objective' is to carry passengers in the safest environment as is physically possible.

All our drivers are trained to ensure whilst on hire there is no danger to either passengers or vehicles.

Before each new journey, the driver, at request, will convey all emergency information for the vehicle to the member of staff or group organiser.  This incudesfirst aid kits, fire extinguisher location and use, the location of emergency exits, break-glass windows & hammers, and all emergency hatches.

We assess all journeys undertaken, in respect of location, specified route and destination. To ensure Passengers are safe and can easily Board and Alight the vehicle.  At all times the collection and dropping of passengers must be on the correct side of the road and in a safe and convenient point.

For customer safety, any drunken or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated and that person or persons will be asked to leave the vehicle before it continues.  Just Travel are not responsible for any onward travel forany persons askled to leave the vehicle for these reasons.  If necessary, a Police Officer in uniform will be requested to deal with the individual or group.

Vehicles on hire will always display a ID code or number clearly in the front window.  This helps identifying the vehicle at a large arena or sports ground etc.  If there is more than one vehicle on a hire request, a coach number will also be displayed alongside the groups name.  If the vehicle is on a hired or contracted 'run', it will also display the route number clearly in the window.

Whilst on hire to a school group, driviers are requested to make clear to lead members of staff all exits and safety features of the vehicle.  It is the responsibility of the member of staff to ensure all students under the age of 16 are wearing their setbelts in a correct and adjusted manner before the coach leaves its collection point.
